Today was better in the tech world. I really enjoyed and kept up for the most part on the presentations today. Infographics and AudioBoo will enhance my powerpoint presentations, WHEN I get the devices in my classroom.
However, I will not dwell on what I don't have but will make the BEST out of what I got. The session on Copyright was very helpful. Well tomorrow will be bittersweet. It will be my last day with Mrs. Latham, so that means presentation time. I must admit my presentation turned out better than I expected, which is good considering expectations were low on my part. Mrs. Latham did an AWESOME job keeping my encouraged about my artistic ability. Now its time to FOCUS on the lesson plan!!! GAETI 2014 is winding down!

Tuesday what a day!!!!! Canvass presentation was overwhelming, not hard just need more time to get a better grasp on it. I'm excited that the Copyright session is tomorrow. The countdown for the lesson plan is quickly approaching and I have not started on it. Mentally drained when I get home, and I don't have anything to work on it at home. That information probably does not shock any of you. Now you probably understand why my fear of not getting the projects completed is real. I thought there was going to be time to work on the projects during the day. So much information about technology that i want to learn, so I guess I got to break down and by me some thing for at home. I've put it off for way too long. What a day, what a day, hopefully it's better tomorrow!!!

I had a great time today. The sessions were really helpful. The presentations on iPad for the classroom gave more insight on how to use an iPad in the classroom. I hope I get some type of technology device to use in my classroom. My school district was looking into the apple tv. No one was interested in it, because we didn't know anything about it or how it could be utilized in the classroom. Thanks to GAETI I know more about it and hope to be the first to get one since I have some knowledge about it now. The weather hopefully just postponed the Copyright presentation. I really want to know what I'm doing wrong when it comes to copyright. Finally got all my pieces glued down in art now it's time to tackle the glass. Tomorrow will be interesting.

The common core presentation provided more insight on ways to cover the standards. I like the activities that were used during the presentation. Once again my mind is in information overload. The information is so helpful that I do not want to forget anything. I'm still trying to figure out some of the technology from the previous weeks. I will be spending July becoming more familiar with all this information and technology. Hopefully, I will have some type of tech equipment in my room this year.

Well, we received various resources today. I love getting free teaching resources. I'm in overwhelm mood again this lesson plan format is not complicated. I'm not use to writing plans this detailed. However it will be very helpful with meeting the Domain Planning on the MSTAR Evaluation. So, gotta go home and figure out how to get this lesson plan template figured out. I'm enjoying this workshop, but WOW information overload.

Today was a very productive session. The discussions were wonderful and full of advice. I am so glad we got a chance to actually looked at our school policy. Then we got to discuss things in it that could possibly hinder implementing technology more in the classrooms. We developed some ideas to try and get these things changed. We also discussed how we would take this information back to our districts and share with others. The discussion on MSTAR was helpful as well. Learning something new everyday of this workshop. Wow, so much information to process, I wish the workshop could have been recorded. I know I'm going to leave something out. Glad to be participating in this workshop. GO GAETI 2014

The World of Technology is forever changing. I really gotta try to stay updated more on ways to use technology in the classroom. After getting all these wonderful ideas, I got to find a way to get technology in the classroom. I really like the flip your classroom idea. Incorporating these ideas will not be hard. The challenge is getting technology in the classroom to actually use. Nevertheless, I have the information needed to persuade my principal to consider putting me in a room where I will be able to utilize the knowledge learned from this workshop. GO GAETI 2014

Friday is finally here which means another wonderful week of GAETI 2014 comes to an end. The Show and Tell session was awesome got alot of useful information to use in the classroom. De'Marco Fomby did a fantastic job on youth safety. The group presentation projects were good also. Enjoyed this week but READY for the weekend.
"For learning to occur, there has to be some kind of change in the learner. No change, no learning."
Great quote that was shared by Dr. Becky Smith. Alot of information and websites were given to help teach economics. I really enjoyed the lesson on how to write a reflection. I realized during the presentation that I do not write a reflection correctly. I only describe when reflecting and got to do more examining and articulating what I learned. The Deal Model will be very helpful when teaching students how to reflect. Also, I want to find a way to get my students involved in a service-learning project. Very impressed with the work of Dr. Chad Smith and his students. Wow, I got alot of planning to do with all these great ideas I'm learning from this workshop.

Finally, I have learned some helpful ideas and techniques on creating games. Eager to get started on creating some for my classroom. I can't believe it, but I am kind of excited about learning technology. Yes, I know the magic square in excel, didn't know there was one. Also, I learned how to create a spinner on excel. Art was fun again today as well. I'm still in shock mode from all the information I absorbed today. My mind is in overdrive trying to figure out how and when to get these ideas incorporated in my teaching. (When; as in which to do first?)

I really enjoyed today. The presentations and activities were awesome. The two things i found most helpful were the Jigsaw Classroom and Team Based Learning. I feel these activities can be used in a variety of ways in the classroom. Many ideas came to mind, but I want time to let them settle before posting about them. I can't wait to try team based learning and teaching the literacy strategies. The strategies will be very beneficial to the students. Most of them don't realize you use the strategies in other subjects besides Reading. We worked more on our web design, it wasn't too bad. The fear of completely messing up something is fading. I couldn't dare leave without mentioning Mrs. Latham. She did a wonderful job of trying to convince me that I was doing a great job in class today. I did the activity but still skeptical until I see the end product. I absolutely love her personality.

Today I feel like a fish out of water. First of all the creating a web portfolio got me to jumping. I'm not a technology whiz. I'm just getting the hang of the blog. Then here comes the arts and crafts session, seriously I have a problem drawing stick people. Now I can truly say, I know exactly how my students feel when they are not comfortable with an assignment. On the bright side, I will be able to share this experience with them and let them know that my jumping is not in vain. Like the fish I am trying to get back in the pond and show off my newly acquired skills. Two things I found most helpful today was the crocodoc activity and backward design information. Can't wait to see how this art activity unfolds.

Today was very busy and FULL of WALKING! WE really did Get Moving. Whew, I'm tired but on the bright side got enough exercise in for this afternoon.
My experience today was very educational and fun. I really enjoyed my group and the tours. I received alot of information to take back to the classroom. Feeling excited about the rest of the month. Very GLAD I got accepted in this workshop. Go GAETI 2014

I really enjoyed the Imaginary Nation Project. In my opinion, students will enjoy this project. I will add this activity to the 5 Themes of Geography Unit. I need to become a little more familiar with the Social Data with Tables & Charts. The technology aspect of it is a plus.
Mr. Spears gave more insight on performance based questions, and cleared up some common misconceptions about CCSS and PARCC. Glad he gave a resource list in his presentation.
I'm excited about Duolingo. This will definitely help me on my part-time job. I encounter alot of people that only speak Spanish.

Day 1
Today was very well organized. It took away alot of the stress of what to expect. The team was excited to meet everyone. Glad to have all the housekeeping out of the way. Ready to learn ways to improve my teaching. Eager to learn more to help me understand CCSS better.
